BACKGROUND OF THE ScHOOL

             Barangay Pinagbuhatan Serves as a community with estimated 400,000 residents.

            

             The population includes urban poor groups, absorbed to the community in recent years. The Population growth calls for the establishment of Rizal High School Annex Pinagbuhatan under the local government as provided by Executive Order no. 757. The School is situated along highway of Urbano Velasco Ave. estimated for about 1 Kilometer away from Pasig Market. It has the Barangay Headquarters beside the main gate and the Pasig River is seen at the back of the school. The School has 5-storey building (Ph-I-V)

 

            The school started its operation on June 6, 1995 with 1,025 first year students and 27 Teachers. Mrs. Nicanora C. Aquino, a Guidance Coordinator of Rizal High School served as an officer-In-Charge of RHSAP from 1996 to 1997 and left the school with 1, 840 students

            The Student population increases to 2, 251 in SY 1997-1998 where Mrs. Ligaya Insigne Head of Mathematics Department in Rizal High School acted as an officer-in-charge

             

            Mr. Consuelo Legaspi took over in SY 1998-1999 to November 2001 with 3,113, 3,600, 3,950 students and 83, 100 and 120 teachers respectively.

            Mrs. Nerita T. Villamarin, then became the Officer-in-Charge from SY 2001 to May 2004. The Population continued to rise until such time that the school needs to be separated from its mother school. The Rizal High School and the virtue of so called Deed of Usufruct. Rizal High School Annex Pinagbuhatan became independent school on June 2, 2004 and renamed as Pinagbuhatan High School on September 2, 2004 with Mrs. Nerita. T. Villamarin promoted to Principal I and ended her term last December 2007.

 

           January 3, 2008 Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Austria, the Division Office Education Supervisor I of English took over and acted as Officer in-charge.

 

           On August 2008, Mrs. Estela M. Santos took over as the principal of the school. The school increasing population resulted to double shift program last 2006-2007b wherein clases of 1st, 3rd and 4th year are in the morning session while 2nd year took classes in afternoon session.

 

          When Mrs. E. Santos retired from the service, Mrs. Rebecca Gallardo a Division Supervisor I of Social Studies managed the school.

 

          After two weeks of leadership of Mrs. Gallardo, a new principal came in the person of Mr. Lazaro P. Torres Jr.  who first served as a principal of Sagad High School. With the school vission and mission and objective centered on students, teachers, curriculum facilities and community development. Pinagbuhatan High School dedicates its efforts towards positive changes in the school as a whole.

 

          It was on the 25th day of May 2015 when Mr. Torres was replaced by Dr. Florencia T. Laxamana, a former principal of Nagpayong High School in her months of leadership and management the improvements of school were seen and experienced by the teachers and students with the help of the local government. The school population under her leadership was 4,203 composed of Grade 7 - 1185, Grade 8 0 1076, Grade 9 - 9976 and Grade 10-975 Ms. Laxamana is also a served as principal of Buting Senior High School when it started its operation for School year 2016-2017. With the retirement of Dr. Florencia T. Laxamana in December 2019, she was replaced by Mrs. Cecilia G. Regala from January 2020 up to the present. Mrs. Cecilia Regala was a former science teacher of PHS and principal of Kapitolyo High School before she became the principal of Pinagbuhatan High School. 

 

        At present, for School Year 2020 - 2021, there are now 167 teachers in Pinagbuhatan High School with 31 sections for Grade 7, 27 sections for Grade 8, 23 sections for Grade 9 and 21 sections in Grade 10. The total student population of the school is 5,013 as of December, 2020.
